Lake Chelan: One of America's Hidden Treasures.

Lake Chelan is not your ordinary run-of-the-mill lake, it is a beautiful glacier fed 55-mile body of crystalline fresh water—the third deepest in America. Combine this with 300 days of sunshine, blue skies and magnificent mountain scenery and Lake Chelan is more like a blissful state of mind.

With its near perfect climate, Lake Chelan is a year-round destination where nature lovers come by the thousands each season to enjoy their favorite pastimes, which include wine tasting, golfing, boating, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and more. Not to mention fun-filled festivals of all kinds—from music to wine to the culinary arts.

Great weather, lots to see and do and only a short drive from Puget Sound. It's no wonder that adventurous, creative winemakers were drawn to this very special wine-growing region.

Lake Chelan's unique wine community

In the Lake Chelan Valley you can experience the delightful wines produced from the surrounding vineyards. At the wineries, wine lovers can look forward to crush, barrel tastings, new releases, and many other activities all year long. With 16 eclectic wineries and 250 acres of grapes planted, it offers aficionados and aspiring enthusiasts alike an intimate look at the art of great winemaking.

In the spring of 2009, the Lake Chelan AVA was approved, making it Washington's 11th appellation, adding an exciting world-class stature to Lake Chelan's grape-growing reputation.

Wenatchee. On the sunny side of the state.

The beautiful Wenatchee Valley is located in the center of Cascade Valley Wine Country. Divided by the mighty Columbia River, this gorgeous fertile valley is bordered on the east by ice age volcanic cliffs that soar majestically to the sky, and on the west by the Cascade Mountain foothills rising from the valley floor.

Just a 2 1/2 hour drive from either Spokane or Seattle, this unique valley is home to the cities of Wenatchee and East Wenatchee--and is also accessible by train and the region's only commercial air service.

The Wenatchee Valley is a thriving community blessed with 300 days of sunshine and an abundance of small town spirit and warmth. In fact, Wenatchee was nationally recognized as a "Great American Main Street City" by the National Trust for Historic Preservation in 2003.

An enviable array of year-round recreation is waiting for you here—golfing, boating, fishing, cycling, snow skiing, the list is endless. Thanks to its unique geography and sunny climate there are days when you can snow ski at Mission Ridge in the morning, water ski on the Columbia River in the afternoon, and play a round of golf in the evening.

Great wine begins with our growers.

Wenatchee Valley's climate is long-known for providing ideal growing conditions for apples and other tree fruit—warm sunny days, cool nights, rich volcanic soil and an abundance of pure mountain water. That's why our wines consistently earn high ratings and have won top awards in numerous competitions.

Great wine is why visitors come by car, boat and bicycle to the thriving community of wineries on both sides of the mighty Columbia. You can meet the winemakers, walk in the vineyards and maybe roll up your sleeves to help bottle a new vintage. It's all part of the Wenatchee Valley wine adventure.
