Keynote Speaker for the 2017 Grape and Wine Issues Caucus: Former Attorney General Rob McKenna
Rob McKenna, former Attorney General for Washington State, will be the keynote speaker for the Grape and Wine Industry Issues Caucus presented in partnership by the Washington Wine Institute and the Washington Winegrowers Association on Tuesday, November 14 in the State Fair Room on the Yakima State Fair Park campus, in Yakima.
As our former Washington State Attorney General and President of the National Association of Attorneys General, Rob is accomplished in all areas of public policy, appellate law, and investigations. He is now partner in the law firm Orrick which serves the technology, energy & infrastructure and finance sectors with offices around the world. He is co-head of the firm’s Public Policy Group and co-founder of Orrick’s Cyber Security & Data Privacy Group.
The 2017 Grape and Wine Issues Caucus is a day-long event created for owners, managers, and staff of winery and grape growing operations as well as wine-industry affiliated companies. In addition to registering yourself, please forward to your staff and/or peers so any person in our industry as the opportunity to join us to learn and ask questions of issue-area experts. The goal of the Grape and Wine Issues Caucus is to help increase your knowledge and understanding of current state and federal issues, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, understand your role in advocacy, and interact with the leaders of our industry working hard to elevate our presence and make a difference within the many opportunities and challenging issues the Washington wine industry faces in 2017 and beyond.
Lead winery wastewater discharge general permit writer for the Department of Ecology Stacey Callaway will be one of the Issue Caucus’s expert speakers and will be bringing a significant amount of NEW information regarding what Ecology is proposing within the general permit and looking for feedback concerning what should and should not be included in the final version.

We strongly encourage you to register online by November 10 and, if you are a Washington Wine Institute or Washington Winegrower member, utilize the membership-discounted rate. Registering online is very helpful for us as we will be able to provide an accurate headcount to the caterer for lunch and also know how to best prepare the room for a full day of learning and Q&A, but please know that in addition to registering online there will be an option to register upon arrival if your plans change last minute and you end up being free to join us for the day.
