Taste Washington 2019

We had a great time celebrating Washington Wine Month pouring for our visitors and offering a taste of our region at Washington’s largest single region tasting event, Taste Washington. We would like to thank all of the participating wineries for sharing their fantastic wines at this amazing event!

In case you missed the festivities, this year’s event was two days filled with the perfect pairings and new discoveries from not only around the state, but our unique and diverse region, offering the perfect opportunity to truly taste Washington. Cascade Valley Wine Country was pleased to pour an incredible selection of whites and reds from all three regions, giving our guests the chance to taste their way through Central Washington’s wine country.

Below is detailed list including our featured wines this year. Each wine listed below will be available for purchase in the tasting rooms, and many are available online. Horan Estates

2014 HVH Red Blend $26 consisting of 35% Cab Franc, leading blend with 24% Malbec, 24% Cab Sauv and 17% Tempranillo.  Boasting aromas of rich dark cherries, black licorice, Almond Joy and black currant syrup as well as a hint of leather and a lovely blackberry finish.

2015 Bottoms Up Chardonnay $22 A beautiful golden glow of 100% clean and crisp Chardonnay. Tropical fruits and hint of vanilla on the nose followed by full-bodied flavors of pineapple, passion fruit, peach, and twist of zingy grapefruit.

2015 Free Run Syrah $40 Seductive and rich, this 100% free run Syrah captivates your senses by expressing jamming notes of blackberry, chocolate covered cherries, and baking spices.

2015 Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon $60 A headily perfumed bouquet of cherries, black fruit and notes of hazelnut deliver a palate of rich black berries, dark chocolate, and smooth cherry following a long subtle finish of wet granite and savory elegance.

2013 Barrel Select $25 The aromas seamlessly meld fruit, baking spices and earth with notes of dark cherry, black currant and ripe blackberry. Complemented by red clay, fresh turned earth, allspice, clove, and cinnamon.

2014 Pepper Bridge and Bacchus Vineyards Merlot $30 Heady aromas of dark fruit lead to sensuous pleasers on the palate. Red meats, game, dark meats of domestic fowl-all will compliment nicely.

Baroness Cellars

2015 Carmenere $NP This medium bodied red expresses luscious notes of red and black fruits with a healthy herbaceous note of green peppercorns.

2014 Nebbiolo $NP A full-bodied red leading the nose to a delicate bouquet of roses and red fruits, elegantly entering the palate with robust tannins, rich dark fruits, notes of violets and  Finishing with a delightful essence of cedar.

2012 Cabernet Sauvignon $75 This exceptionally smooth and elegant wine presents a rich, deep color, excellent tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood enter the palate with rich notes of cherry, dark chocolate, fresh tilled earth, and spicy cracked black pepper.

2016 Montage $28 Blend of 58% Merlot and 42% Cabernet Franc with rich notes of blueberry and raspberry ending with a peppery finish.

2014 D. Lovarco Super Tuscan $48 a Super Tuscan blend of Sangiovese, Cab Sauvignon & Merlot this wine delights the palate with notes of cherries, strawberries & plums full bodied with silky tannins.

Patterson Cellars/The Wine Cellar

2017 Blanc de Blanc Sparkling Chardonnay $38 Opens with aromas of fresh apples, lemon bars, white blossoms and ripe pineapple. Fine bubbles and deleicate mousse highlight tropical fruits and a touch of minerality with a lingering citrus finish.

2014 Rose $22 This light salmon colored rosé of Sangiovese and Tempranillo opens with delicate notes of pear, vanilla and white flowers. Dominant flavors include juicy pear, fresh raspberries, strawberries and citrus. Barrel fermentation lends a round, textured mouthfeel, with warm spicy notes, leading to a long finish.

2016 Grenache $42- Expressive notes of white pepper, luscious red fruits, and subtle woodsy flavors

Cairdeas Winery

2015 Tri-Red Blend $39- 56% Syrah, 28% Grenache, 16% Mourvèdre. Syrah leads the 2015 vintage of the Trí, followed by Grenache and Mourvédre. Blueberry, black raspberry and baking spice dominate the nose with dark red fruit, green olive and fig taking over the palate.

Four Lakes Winery

2016 Trinity Rose $NP- This un-oaked Rosé is inspired by our first red blend, Trinity, which was produced during our first year in the wine business in 2004. With equal thirds Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah you will find that this is a full-bodied rosé wine that reveals notes of stone fruit, bing cherry, rhubarb and finishes with a touch of brown sugar

2015 TNT Red Blend $NP- This Bordeaux blend consists of 31% Cabernet Franc, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Petit Verdot, 16% Malbec and 12% Merlot. This full-bodied wine has bountiful aromas and flavors of red cherry, delectable plum, juicy blackberry, ripe boysenberry and roasted pepper.

2015 Malbec $60 Deliciously dark and fruity

Radiance Winery

2017 Hanalei $28 Aromas of honeysuckles, subtle grapefruit and citrus bloom collide with exotic tropical fruit flavors of papaya, guava, and banana to create this richly textured, medium bodied wine.

2014 Watertown Red $NP Delightful notes of red currant, blueberries, cedar, and red fruits lend depth and elegance to this delicious blend.

2016 La Domestique $39 -70% Merlot, 15% Malbec, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon

2017 Glacial Treasure $20 – 32% Pinot Gris, 24% Gewurztraminer, 21% Riesling, 20% Sauvignon Blanc, 3% Viognier

2017 Riesling $NP Subtly sweet, yet off dry Riesling dazzles the senses with notes of green apple, honey, jasmine and lime.

2017 Malbec $NP Dark and complex, expressing rich notes of plum, baking spices, fennel, and dark earth.
